A veteran run non-profit providing acute medical care in low resource areas. We are currently the only medical provider to 2500 asylum seekers living in a tent camp the size of two football fields. COVID-19 will be devastating to this community, where social distancing or self-quarantine is not an option. We are grateful for all the support we can get.
Less than 500 ft from our border in Matamoros, Mexico, over 3,000 asylum seekers and refugees are in desperate need of medical care. They have no food. No water. No bathrooms. And no access to basic medical care or hygiene. GRM started our response in September of 2019, assessing and evaluating the needs of those living in the harsh conditions of the camp. Since starting our full time operations in October, we’ve treated over 3,000 patients and provide emergency medical care for conditions such as appendicitis, third degree burns, pneumonia, influenza, severe acute malnutrition, etc. Our teams of high trained medical volunteers work in the camp seven days a week to help families facing acute and chronic medical conditions get the medical care they need.
